Italy’s score in the the latest edition of Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has worsened by one point, dropping to 53.
A country’s score is the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0-100, where 0 means highly corrupt and 100 means very clean.
The average score for the EU was 62.
Italy’s score puts it 52nd out of the 182 countries/territories worldwide, 19th in the European Union and 31st out of 38 in the OECD.
