Podgorica, (MINA) – The Parliament of Montenegro confirmed on Thursday the agreements between the Montenegrin Government and the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Albania on the construction of bridges over the rivers Tara and Bojana, which will provide for better connectedness between Montenegro and these two countries.
The MPs adopted the Bill confirming the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the BiH Council of Ministers on the construction of the bridge over the Tara river and the roads connecting it with the border-crossing point with 52 votes in favor.
46 MPs voted in favor of the Bill confirming the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and Albania on the construction of the bridge over the Bojana river.
Minister of Transportation and Maritime Affairs Filip Radulovic said that the construction of the Tara bridge and the connecting roads will be financed by Montenegro and BiH, participating with 50 per cent each.
“Construction of this bridge and the connecting roads will significantly improve traffic safety and allow for better connectedness of the two countries”, said Radulovic.
Speaking about the construction of the bridge over the Bojana river, he said that both countries will pay 50 per cent of the project expenses each.
“Construction of this bridge and the connecting roads will allow this part of Montenegro to be valorized, while the traffic safety will be improved and better connectedness between the two countries enabled”, said radulovic.
