European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, along with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, are to visit Cairo on Sunday, March 17.
European Commission spokesperson Veerle Nuyts announced this during a press briefing on Friday.
She also noted that Ursula von der Leyen is to meet with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, adding that the mission is taking place in the context of talks for a stronger partnership between the EU and Egypt.
