Osmani says that there may be challenges in the Balkans: Special attention is needed

The Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, considers that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is necessary. This is because, as he says, rapid changes are taking place in geopolitics, which do not favor the Balkans.

In the interview for KosovaPress, the Macedonian chief diplomat says that there may still be challenges and tensions in the Balkans, therefore he emphasizes that special attention is needed.

He also talks about the draft statute for the Association, while regarding the terrorist attack in Banjska he says that it has returned everything to zero.

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has recently spoken about the issue of security in the Balkans and the potential danger, according to which “Russia is preparing a war in the Balkans” Osmani says that such statements are a plus message about why big topics should be closed quickly.

As a result, Osmani says that Kosovo and Serbia should use the momentum to close the disputes.

Moreover, he emphasizes that any delay would harm the parties in the process, but also the entire region.

Asked about the Serbian aggression in Banjska and the measures taken against Kosovo, the Macedonian chief diplomat says that what happened on September 24 requires reflection by the European Union and the countries of the region, so that it can continue with other dynamics.

As for the draft statute for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, which was accepted by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Osmani, not commenting much, says that it is a matter for Kosovo to decide on internal regulation.

The OSCE summit will be held on November 30 and December 1 in North Macedonia, where it will be decided what the future of the organization will be. /KosovaPress-BTA
