Osmani demands the handover of terrorists from Serbia and measures against the leadership there

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the end of her speech at the UNSC, said that Kosovo needs essential security guarantees within the Euro-Atlantic security framework, increased security around Kosovo’s border with Serbia and the approval of measures clearly against the leadership of Serbia as an obstacle.

Osmani, at the UNSC meeting on Kosovo, asked international partners to focus on stopping Serbia’s support for terrorist activities against Kosovo, urging them to cooperate in the investigation of the latest terrorist attack and hand over the terrorists involved.

According to her, Kosovo will not give Serbia instruments through which they can destroy the lives of Serbs living in Kosovo and try to constantly diminish our sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“I confirm that we are ready to do even more for the Serbs in Kosovo, but we will not give Serbia instruments through which they can destroy the lives of the Serbs living in Kosovo and try to constantly diminish our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ladies and gentlemen, Kosovo, once a symbol of suffering due to Milosevic’s genocidal war, has emerged today as a shining example of democracy in the Western Balkans and beyond.”

She has also mentioned international reports and publications, which have constantly emphasized the extraordinary democratic progress of Kosovo.

“Our prayer is clear and unwavering: Kosovo needs essential security guarantees within the Euro-Atlantic security framework. As we move forward, we must focus on stopping Serbia’s support for terrorist activities against Kosovo, urging them to cooperate in the investigation of the latest terrorist attack and hand over the terrorists involved. Moreover, the increase in security around Kosovo’s border with Serbia and the adoption of clear measures against Serbia’s leadership as an obstacle,” she said.

Osmani mentioned to Serbia the list of non-implementation of the agreements, adding that Kosovo wants a full and quick implementation of the entirety of the Brussels Agreement of February 27, in a fair and balanced manner.

And finally, Osmani responded to the representative of Russia in the UNSC, saying that it was enough to listen to the speech of the Russian Federation to understand which side is telling the truth and which one is throwing fakes through a propaganda machine.

She emphasized that our parliament, government, every institution and every house in the Republic of Kosovo is full of survivors of terrible crimes, but all dedicated and working for peace.

“This is us, a nation of thriving survivors, a nation committed to peace because we have seen its opposite, a nation committed to democracy because we have lived its opposite, and a nation that is ready to pay any price to ensure the survival and success of freedom”, she concluded.
