ZAGREB, 11 June (Hina) – A total of 88,327 persons were registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) at the end of May 2024, which is 9,431 fewer persons or a 9.6%В drop compared with May 2023В and the lowest ever number of unemployed persons in Croatia.
Compared to April 2024, the number of job-seekers dropped by 10.6% or 10,493 persons.
This is proof of the continued strong demand for labour on the domestic labour market, which is primarily owing to the tourist season, as evidenced by HZZ data showing that most of the people who were removed from the HZZ records – 3,363 or 24.1% – have found employment in the provision of accommodation and the preparation and service of food.
According to daily statistics, currently 84,324 persons are registered with the HZZ and there are 21,104 advertised vacancies.
In May this year, 14,927 persons or 16.9% of all job-seekers received unemployment benefits, a drop of 15.8% from May 2023.
