Nearly 500,000 overnight stays in May

According to preliminary statistics released by Monstat, Montenegro saw 159,840 tourist arrivals in collective accommodation in May, which resulted in 499,320 overnight stays.

“Of the total number of nights spent in the collective accommodation, foreign tourists accounted for 87.6 percent and domestic ones for 12.4 percent,” stated a press release issued by Monstat.

In May, 89.4 percent of the total number of nights was spent in the coastal region, 6.1 percent in the Capital City, 2.4 percent in mountain regions, and 2.1 percent in other tourist destinations.

Collective accommodation does not include the individual, so-called private accommodation in houses, rooms and apartments.

It includes hotels, resorts, inns, motels, holiday centres, hostels, and camps.
