Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha

TIRANA, June 16 /ATA/ Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha on Sunday.

Eid al-Adha is the holiday that symbolizes the sublime sacrifice of the father of the prophets, Ibrahim. Major events that have changed the course of history are associated with the name of this holiday, such as: the reconstruction of the Kaaba, the Hajj, the name “Muslim”, etc.

All over the country, Muslim believers have started the celebration of this holy holiday by flocking to the mosques to perform the early morning Eid prayers.

In Tirana, hundreds of Muslim believers prayed in “Skënderbej” square, but also in other mosques of the capital.

In his remarks at the ceremony of early morning Eid prayers, the head of the Muslim Community, Hajji Bujar Spahiu, congratulated the Muslim faithful saying that it is a holiday that reminds us how high man’s devotion to God should be, “the holiday that symbolizes the sacrifice and obedience of man towards God and the immeasurable mercy that the creator has for his highest creature, which is man.
