Bucharest, Dec 6 /Agerpres/ – Romanian mountaineer Adrian Ahritculesei (Адриан Ариткулесeи), who conquered Mount Everest (8,848 metres) in May this year, is currently in Australia where he is about to climb Mount Kosciuszko (2,228 meters), the highest on this continent, as part of his project through which he wants to enter the Seven Summits Circuit – the seven highest peaks on all continents of the world.”After the success of the Seven Volcanoes project – the highest volcanoes in the world, Adrian has set out to join the circuit of the highest mountains on all continents, of which he only has three more peaks to climb. In the coming days, he will climb Kosciuzsko, the highest peak in Australia, which, from an altitude point of view, is not a problem for him,” the athlete’s manager, Stefan Jurca, told AGERPRES on Friday.
Currently, Adrian Ahritculesei still has to conquer Mount Kosciuszko, in Australia, McKinley Peak (6,194 metres), in Alaska – the highest in North America, and the Vinson Massif (4,897 metres), in Antarctica.
Adrian Ahritculesei has experience in climbing high peaks, among others, managing to climb Everest (8,848 metres), Elbrus (Russia, 5,642 metres), Mont Blanc (Italy, 4,748 metres) or Aconcagua (Argentina, 6,962 metres).
At the same time, in January 2023, the climber from Petroshani managed to conquer Mount Sidley (4,285 metres), in Antarctica, and thus complete the “Circuit of the 7 Volcanoes,” becoming the first man in Romania to record such a performance.
