Milatovic: EBRD can be a key partner for major infrastructure projects

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, has stated that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is a key strategic partner in shaping a sustainable economy, particularly highlighting the importance of their expert support and favourable lending conditions for continuing the motorway construction.

He hosted a working breakfast for the EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, and members of her delegation at his Residence in Cetinje, marking the second meeting between Milatovic and the EBRD President, following last year’s encounter in London.

Milatovic briefed EBRD representatives on Montenegro’s achievements in the rule of law and institutional independence, which created opportunities for further intensifying the investment cycle in the country.

Renaud-Basso expressed her support for Montenegro in continuing reforms and attracting foreign investments towards EU accession in line with EBRD’s strategic priorities, including the green transition plan, enhancing private sector capacities, and connectivity, including cross-border transport, energy, and digital connectivity.

It was concluded that the cooperation between Montenegro and the EBRD was excellent and substantial, with numerous joint projects implemented in the past.
