Police arrested at Milan Central Station a 25-year-old Pakistani man with a criminal record for aggravated assault based on racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination after he allegedly attacked a group of Jewish American citizens waiting to board a train, sources said Monday night.
The Pakistani man allegedly violently attacked one of them and began kicking and punching one of them, eventually hitting him on the head with a blunt object.
Railway police officers subdued him and arrested him.
The 25-year-old American Orthodox Jew was struck in the head by a heavy ring the attacker was wearing, sources said.
The blow caused a lacerated wound to the head, they said.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not serious.
