ZAGREB, 11 Nov (Hina) – The 17th edition of Theatre Night will take place on Saturday, 15 November, at around fifty locations in roughly eighty theatres across Croatia, it was announced on Tuesday at a press conference at the Zagreb Youth Theatre (ZKM).
Sandra Banić Naumovski, director of the Dubrava Public University, which organises the Theatre Night festivals, said that for several years now the event has not been a single-day affair. The first activities began on 10 November in Grubišno Polje with the play “Mali požari” by the Mala Scena Theatre, and the programme will conclude on 27 November in Stažnjevec.
She highlighted that this year, the event will again feature the largest national theatres, major public theatres, and independent theatre companies in large cities, smaller towns, and on the islands.
For the first time, Mali Lošinj and Krk will also participate.
The Theatre Night began in 2008 as a one-day event across Croatia. It is part of the European Theatre Night, whose mission is to promote both professional and amateur theatre by fostering collaboration and the exchange of completed productions.
