French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Kosovo President Justina Shiroka Pula on taking office, emphasizing the importance of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

In his congratulatory letter, Macron expressed hope that President Shiroka Pula’s election would help resume progress in areas contributing to Kosovo’s European perspective.

The French president recalled his meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Paris in March, as well as the historic partnership between France and Kosovo.

He also welcomed the new agreements between the two countries, signed during the visit of France’s minister delegate for Europe to Kosovo in July.

In his letter, Macron stressed the importance of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, reaffirming France’s support for the European Union-facilitated dialogue.
