Grič Evenings summer music festival to be held on 4-18 July

The oldest summer music festival in Zagreb, Večeri na Griču (Grič Evenings), will offer audiences five musical evenings from 4 to 18 July in the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, featuring a programme that blends classical masterpieces, contemporary sounds, and music from around the world.

Now in its 44th edition, the prestigious festival continues to uphold its tradition of outstanding music, bringing together renowned domestic and international artists, the organisers said.

The festival opens on Friday, 4 July, with a performance of Mozart’s Requiem by the Zagreb Philharmonic, the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir, and soloists Darija Auguštan, Ivana Srbljan, Roko Radovan, and Lucijan Batinić, with Tonči Bilić as the conductor.

On 9 July, Parisian lute virtuoso Thomas Dunford & Friends will perform a programme that fuses classical, jazz, and pop music.

On 11 July, audiences can look forward to an original interpretation of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons by the Janoska Ensemble, making their first appearance in Zagreb. On 13 July, one of Croatia’s most esteemed pianists, Lovro Pogorelić, will present a piano recital dedicated to Robert Schumann.

The festival concludes on 18 July with a performance by the Ardemus Quartet, a saxophone quartet presenting their original programme “Yes, she can!”, dedicated to women who shaped the world of classical music. The programme will be accompanied by original texts by writer Ivana Bodrožić.
