Republic of Cyprus Law Office officers chair EU Council’s working groups on legal matters, such as criminal law, fundamental rights and international law.

The Office said in a press release that since the assumption of the EU Council’s Presidency by Cyprus on January 1st, its role has been essential, with high-ranking and experienced officers being the Chairs of the working groups.

It also noted that the priorities set out by the Cyprus Presidency are promoted with the support of the Law Office of the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the EU.

The Law Office said that it also had essential contribution to the preparation of the Informal Council of Justice in Nicosia in January.
