Kosovo PM Albin Kurti speaks after meeting with newly elected president

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke after his meeting with newly elected President Justina Shiroka-Pula, describing the meeting as an important step toward institutional cooperation and coordination.

Kurti said that during the meeting he found the new president willing and ready to cooperate on issues of importance to the state and its citizens. He said that both sides are committed to working together and advancing the public interest.

“Warm welcome and a joint commitment to major, daily work in the interest of the state and the public, and for the benefit of all citizens without distinction. I thanked the president, who honored us by accepting her candidacy on Tuesday. Now we have many commitments ahead of us, which, naturally, with goodwill and all the knowledge and capabilities we have, we will advance as quickly as we can. The Republic of Kosovo, after more than a year and a half, has functional institutions, and we have no time to lose. We must come together to address the many challenges ahead of us. I found not only understanding, but also the readiness, interest and willingness of the new president to coordinate as much as possible on all matters and in every aspect,” Kurti said.

In addition to this issue, Kurti declined to answer questions from the media on other current political matters.

It is recalled that Justina Shiroka-Pula was elected president for a five-year term by the Kosovo Assembly with 81 votes in the first round.
