Konaković requests the official position of Serbia over glorification of war crimes and criminals
SARAJEVO, July 18 (FENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, in a letter addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, strongly condemned the events caused by the glorification of war crimes and the war criminal, general of the Army of the Republika Srpska Ratko Mladić convicted of genocide in Srebrenica, and what was done in the posting of two female students from Bosnia and Herzegovina on social networks. Their announcements were deemed unacceptable by Minister Konaković.
“I am surprised that, instead of condemning this kind of behavior, I learned from the media that as a reward, not for their special engagement in the academic sense and good results, but for the glorification of war crimes, the Republic of Serbia decided to give them a scholarship to continue their education in Belgrade,” it is stated in a letter.
Konaković emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is undoubtedly dedicated to developing good neighborly relations and improving regional cooperation, and reminded that on the occasion of the recent massacre of innocent children in the “Vladislav Ribnikar” elementary school in Belgrade, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed deep sympathy and declared a day of mourning throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In a letter sent to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, Minister Konaković requested the official position of the Republic of Serbia regarding the announcement that the institutions of the Republic of Serbia are ready to grant scholarships for the glorification of war crimes, the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
