Skopje, 4 April 2025 (MIA) — A 29-year-old man who was receiving medical care abroad for his burns and extensive inhalation injuries from the Kochani fire has died, Health Minister Arben Taravari told a press conference Friday.
“Aleksandar Karadakoski, who was being treated in Lithuania, passed away early this morning,” Taravari said, extending his condolences to the family.
The health minister said Karadakoski’s medical condition was the most serious of all 116 patients being treated abroad.
In recent days he had suffered kidney failure. He was febrile, as well.
“On April 1, his kidneys failed,” the health minister said. “He was put on dialysis. He had a fever. He had burns on approximately 36 percent of his body, of the second and third degree, which leaves room for infections.”
“He also had burns to the respiratory tract of 90 percent,” Taravari said.
Karadakoski is the 60th victim of the fire that tore through Kochani’s Pulse nightclub on March 16. Authorities are working on the prompt repatriation of his remains.
