Kasta Tomb in Amphipolis to be delivered early 2028

The Kasta Tomb in Amphipolis, Serres, is expected to be delivered to the public at the end of 2027 or at the latest in early 2028.

The Tumulus Tomb of Amphipolis will be open to the public and accessible to people with disabilities, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, who visited the area in order to inspect the works being carried out at the monument. As she noted, her visit marks the start of the second and final phase of the work to highlight and restore the Tomb.

“The contractor and the directorate have undertaken the restoration of the enclosure and the planning of routes,” Mendoni noted. She also emphasized that the construction of a museum infrastructure, which will house the exhibits has been included and is being financed by the Region of Central Macedonia, through the National Strategic Reference Framework.

“It is known that groups larger than six people cannot enter this particular monument together with a tour guide. Therefore, visitors will wait in this area, which will also function as a hospitality area until they enter the monument,” explained the minister, adding that digital applications will also be provided.
