Inflation rate at 1.7 percent in November

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with the last year’s corresponding period, the prices of products and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), were 1.7 percent higher on average in November.

According to Monstat, the consumer prices saw an average increase of 0.2 percent compared with October.

“The monthly inflation rate was affected primarily by an increase in prices of vegetables, clothing, products for routine maintenance of the house, fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, milk, cheese and eggs, rents, other equipment, and personal care products,” stated a press release issued by Monstat.

Compared with the same period of 2023, consumer prices were higher by 3.4 percent on average between January and November.

Across the main groups, the monthly increase in prices was recorded for clothing and footwear, furnishings and routine maintenance of the house, other products and services, transportation, food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity and other fuel, and healthcare.

In this period, the prices decreased in the category of hotels and restaurants, recreation and culture, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and communications.

Prices of other products and services have not changed considerably.
