Ibrahimaj: Tourism, exports and foreign investments contributed to appreciation of lek

The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated on Tuesday during the press conference on economic indicators that the appreciation of the lek against the euro is attributable to the increase in tourism, exports and foreign investments.

“The appreciation of the lek against the euro is attributable to the structure of the economy and the performance of the economy, especially in relation to the external sector, as exports, the strengthening of exports, of services related to tourism, but also the increase in foreign direct investments, have raised capital in foreign currency, which have influenced the exchange rate,” Ibrahimaj said.
