Hellenic Innovation and Infrastructure Fund activities launched at investor summit in Athens
The Hellenic Innovation and Infrastructure Fund (HIIF), the new investment branch of Greece’s Superfund (known also as Growthfund), was the focus of the Athens International Investor Summit (AIIS) taking place on Tuesday on the theme of “Investing in Infrastructure as a Lever for Development”.
AIIS brought together leading international and Greek investors to highlight strategic investment opportunities in Greece in technology, digital transformation, innovation, energy, cyclical and blue economy and infrastructure. Over 40 institutional agencies managing capital of 20 trillion dollars are participating, several of them coming to Greece for the first time.
The AIIS is a starting point for HIIF as a subsidiary of the Superfund/Growthfund, Greece’s sovereign wealth fund, and aims to offer a new platform for dialog and cooperation between Greece and the global investment community. HIIF’s starting capital is 300 million euros and its first investment will be implemented within the coming months, while its purpose is to leverage 1 billion euros in capital in coming coming years. HIIF’s setup was supported by BlackRock FMA.
