GDP growth at 4.4 percent in the first quarter

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the preliminary statistics released by Monstat, Montenegro’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 4.4 percent in this year’s first quarter.

The Statistical Office says in a press release that the GDP amounted to €1.35 billion in Q1 2024, up from €1.23 billion in the last year’s corresponding period.

Along with Malta and Serbia, whose economies grew at a rate of 4.6 percent and 4.7 percent respectively, Montenegro ranks among the top three countries in the world in terms real GDP growth.

Croatia is fourth, just behind Montenegro, with a growth rate of 3.9 percent, while North Macedonia saw a 1.2 percent growth.
