The Blessing of the Waters took place on Tuesday in Piraeus, on the pier opposite the Church of Saint Spyridon, presided over by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine Tassoulas.
Earlier, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Piraeus, presided over by Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus
President Tassoulas stressed that, “we celebrate Epiphany and thus gather here at Piraeus, the largest port in the country, for a significant celebration to welcome the light and truth that we so urgently seek on this day.”
The celebration of Epiphany was attended by the Minister of Maritime and Insular Policy Vassilis Kikilias, the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs Domna Michailidou, and the Mayor of Piraeus Yannis Moralis.
