TIRANA, June 20 /ATA/ Once a quiet coastal village, Ksamil has blossomed into an internationally renowned destination. Its pristine waters, iconic offshore islands, and proximity to Butrint National Park, coupled with easy access from Saranda and Corfu, have cemented its place on the global tourism map. Notably, this year’s tourist season kicked off much earlier than usual.

Foreign travelers are extending Ksamil’s summer season by arriving as early as April. Local operators note a strong, continuous stream of bookings from Northern and Central Europe and the Balkans, driving early economic growth before the peak months.

Irena Vjeri, head of the Directorate of Projects and Tourism in the municipality of Saranda, told ATA today that, “Indicators point to a massive tourism season with surging international interest. Visitors are increasingly spreading their trips across months of May-June and September-October, moving away from just July and August. Key drivers include upgraded roads, more and better quality hotels, international promotion of the Albanian Riviera and easier transit through Corfu and regional airports.

“The new Ksamil bypass and urban renewal projects are transforming how people explore the area, turning peak-season congestion into a seamless, highly accessible coastal experience”, emphasized Vjeri.
