Passenger traffic at the 14 regional Greek airports managed and operated by Fraport Greece increased by 4.7% in June 2026, with 5.6 million passengers handled, representing an increase of 250,000 passengers compared with the corresponding month of 2025.

Domestic passenger traffic totalled 860,000 passengers, while international passenger traffic reached 4.7 million.
According to Fraport Greece, the principal driver of this growth was international traffic, which increased by 212,000 passengers, up 4.7%.

The largest contributions to the increase came from several airports, notably Thessaloniki, which recorded an additional 49,000 passengers (+9%), Corfu with 45,000 additional passengers (+6.5%), Rhodes with 38,000 (+4%), Chania with 30,000 (+5.8%), Mykonos with 14,000 (+8%), Skiathos with 12,000 (+11.2%) and Kefalonia with 10,000 additional passengers (+7.5%).

Traffic from the Middle East also showed signs of recovery, increasing by 70,000 passengers (+121.5%). The conflict appears to have had a more limited impact on air traffic than initially expected. Although load factors on Middle Eastern routes declined slightly (69.9% in June 2026 compared with 71.1% in June 2025), the substantial increase in flight frequencies suggests that demand continues to grow.

According to company data, traffic from Israel has returned to typical summer levels, supported by the expansion of services across several airports. This recovery was driven primarily by Israeli airlines, including Israir, Blue Bird Airways, EL AL and Arkia Israeli Airlines. Overall, traffic from Israel increased by 73,000 passengers, or 161.3%, indicating a return to more normal operating conditions.

In addition, flights from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to Mykonos Airport (JMK), operated by Qatar Airways and flydubai, continue to recover, while traffic from the United Arab Emirates to Corfu Airport (CFU) and Santorini Airport (JTR) has remained at the same level as in 2025.

In June 2026, the average load factor declined compared with June 2025, falling to 82.4% from 84.6% across most airports. Despite lower seat occupancy rates, passenger traffic remained broadly in line with the levels recorded in June 2025.

Furthermore, June’s performance is considered even more significant due to calendar effects. Although June 2026 had one fewer Sunday than June 2025, passenger traffic still increased, indicating strong underlying demand and improved performance despite a less favourable calendar configuration.
Finally, it should be noted that since the start of the concession period, Fraport Greece’s airports have welcomed approximately 266 million passengers.
