ZAGREB, 14 Aug (Hina) – At the end of June, there were 228,133 employees in trades and freelance professions in Croatia, which is 4.2% or 9,117 more than at the end of May, according to the data of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
There were 210,079 employees in trades, and 18,054 in freelance professions.
There were more employees in 15 categories ranging from a rise of 0.2% in construction to 16.2% in providing accommodation, preparing and serving food.
There were fewer employees in three areas, ranging from -0.3% in health care and social welfare to -12.7% in mining and quarrying.
Employment increased in 17 counties, with a rise of 0.1% in Virovitica-Podravine County to +11.4% in Lika-Senj County.
Employment decreased in three counties, with those drops ranging from – 0.1% in Sisak-Moslavina and Varaždin Counties to -0.6% in Koprivnica-Križeva County.
In Zagreb County, the number of employees remained the same as in May, according to DZS.
