Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku brought to attention the railway project that connects Durrës with Pristina, describing it as a national project, for which both governments have confirmed their commitment.
“We see the project that connects Durrës with Pristina, not only as an important commercial rail connection, which will connect the port of Durres with the Dry Port of Pristina, but also as a transportation alternative that will connect the travelers between the two countries,” Balluku told the annual press conference.
According to her, this is a project that will be supported by the two governments, as a national project that connects Albanians.
“It is not part of the European transport corridors, as in the case of the Vorë-Hani i Hotit or Durrës-Pogradec segments, however, the two governments are committed and I believe that with the completion of the feasibility study, which is underway, we will be ready to open the international competitive bidding process, combined between our two countries, to kick off as soon as possible the construction of this railway, which is a big dream in the drawer,” Balluku said.
