Documentary “Cosmosapiens” – directed by Pavel Cuzuioc, in official selection of Viennale International Film Festival

The documentary “Cosmosapiens” directed by Pavel Cuzuioc has been included in the official selection of the 61st edition of the Viennale International Film Festival and is nominated for the Vienna Film Prize and ExtraValue Film Prize, a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday said.

“For me, ‘Cosmosapiens’ is not just about astrophysicists. It is about people, scientific facts, imagination, how we experience the world and how our subjective experience relates to the objective Universe around us,” Pavel Cuzuioc said, as quoted in the release.

The documentary is a cinematic kaleidoscope that delves into the daily routine of a group of scientists who live and work at the Special Astrophysical Observatory in a remote village in the Caucasus Mountains. As they grapple with the vastness of the Universe in their work, they immerse themselves in science, philosophy and art in an attempt to find purpose in their earthly existence, according to the film’s synopsis.

The Viennale takes place in the Austrian capital from October 19 to 31, and the two screenings of the documentary will take place on October 30 and 31, the source said.
