ZAGREB, 26 March (Hina) – This year Croatian citizens plan to spend more on travel than last year, shows a survey conducted by Mastercard, which covered 500 respondents in Croatia out of a total of 16,000 globally.
The survey of changes in consumer preferences related to experiences was conducted in January.
“The survey shows strong interest among Croatian consumers and those throughout Europe in creating unforgettable moments,” Mastercard Croatia says, adding that this year that coincides with major global and European sporting events, music tours, and film festivals.
Sixty-one percent of Croatian respondents plan to travel more and spend more on travel.
For music festivals and concerts, 42% of them plan to spend more, while nearly 40% plan to spend on gastronomic experiences, and 73% find that money spent on experiences is always worthwhile.
For 40% of Croatian respondents, this means creating the best life memories, for 44% gaining a new perspective on the world, and for 41% enriching life through sharing with others.
Eleven percent of respondents plan to reduce spending on all those experiences this year.
Mastercard Croatia director Gea Kariž has said she is pleased with the growing interest in experiential travel and cultural events among Croatian citizens.
