ZAGREB, 11 May (Hina) – Croatia’s airports handled 468,000 passengers in March, up 10.8% from the same month last year, and 336,000 passengers passed through Zagreb airport, which recorded annual growth of 7.5%, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
Franjo Tuđman Airport was followed by Split Airport, which handled 63,000 passengers, up 19.7% year-on-year, and Dubrovnik Airport with 55,000 passengers, an increase of 13.4%.
Zadar Airport posted passenger growth of 90.6%, handling 7,988 passengers, while Pula Airport recorded a 24.3% increase to 2,266 passengers.
Passenger traffic through Osijek Airport rose 53.7% to 1,809 passengers, while Rijeka Airport handled 937 passengers, up 64.1%.
The largest volume of international passenger traffic was recorded with airports in Germany, with 108,000 passengers, up 9.8% from March last year. They were followed by airports in the United Kingdom, with 33,000 passengers, up 3.5%, and Turkey, with 26,000 passengers, an increase of 14.6%.
The total number of aircraft take-offs and landings at Croatian airports in March stood at 6,142, up 1% compared with March 2025.
Total cargo traffic at airports in March amounted to 687 tonnes, down 18.4% from the same month last year.
In the first three months of this year, Croatian airports handled a total of 1.2 million passengers, up 9.3% year-on-year. Total cargo traffic in the period fell 12.3% to 2,000 tonnes.
