ZAGREB, 4 Aug (Hina) – In the first seven months of this year, 47,453 new passenger vehicles were sold in Croatia, which is a 7% increase compared to the same period 2024. In July alone, 6,196 new vehicles were sold – an 11.3% rise, according to data released on Monday by the Promocija Plus market research agency.
Škoda sold the most new vehicles so far this year – 6,472 – capturing 13.64%В of the total market. It is followed by Volkswagen, which sold 5,684 vehicles and holds nearly 12%В of the market share. In third place is Opel with 4,259 vehicles sold and an 8.98%В share.
Renault is in fourth place, having sold 4,221 vehicles (8.90%В share), and Suzuki is fifth with 3,011 vehicles sold and a 6.35% market share.
The best-selling model in July was the Opel Corsa, chosen by 605 buyers.
Next was the Opel Mokka with 438 cars sold, followed by the Škoda Octavia in third place with 312 buyers.
From January to the end of July, Croatian buyers favoured petrol-powered cars the most. A total of 23,591 petrol vehicles were sold, accounting for 49.7%В of all new car sales. Hybrids were in second place, with 16,713 units sold and a 35.2% share.
Diesel-powered vehicles came third, chosen by 5,745 buyers (12.1%), followed by LPG-powered cars with 894 units sold (1.9%). At the bottom of the list were electric vehicles, with only 510 cars sold, making up just 1.1% of total sales.
