EU – Western Balkans Summit on 5 June in Tivat

Podgorica, (MINA) – The EU – Western Balkans Summit, which will bring together the heads of state and government of all EU member states, as well as top officials of European institutions and leaders of the Western Balkans, will be held on 5 June in Tivat, the Office of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, announced.

The host of the summit will be Milatovic, and institutional coordination for this, as stated in the press release, historic event, began with the first session of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and implementation of the Summit, established by the President of Montenegro.

It is stated that the current course of activities undertaken by the President’s cabinet was reviewed at the session and that key tasks and deadlines were set for all relevant institutions involved in the organization of the Summit.

The press release adds that the Organizational Committee includes representatives of the Office of the President of Montenegro, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Finance, Internal Affairs and Public Administration, as well as the Police Administration, the Airports of Montenegro, the Municipality of Tivat and the General Secretariat of the Government.

It is emphasized that hosting the EU – Western Balkans Summit in Montenegro represents a strong political message about the country’s place in the European future.
