Croatia is among the EU countries with the largest share of households owning their home, data from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, shows.
Eurostat has found that last year 68% of the EU population lived in their own home, while 32% were renting.
The highest share of ownership was observed in Romania (93%), followed by Slovakia (92%), Croatia (91%) and Hungary (90%).
Home owners were in the majority in as many as 26 EU countries. Renting was more common only in Germany, where 53.3% of the population were renting their housing.
