According to the Ministry of Capital Investments, Montenegro and Kosovo will continue to collaborate on the implementation of major road infrastructure projects.
Last October, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Capital Investments Ervin Ibrahimovic and Kosovo’s Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Urbanism Liburn Aliu signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation for the implementation of infrastructure projects.
On that occasion, they also signed a Protocol defining the list of projects of common interest for future implementation: the Plav-Decani and Rozaje-Pec roads, as well as the Kolasin-Pec-Prishtina road.
“On the basis of the previously mentioned activities, a meeting of delegations from the two countries was held at the Government of Kosovo in Prishtina to define the next steps for the implementation of these important infrastructure projects,” stated a press release issued by the Ministry.
At the meeting, Aliu expressed support for the activities of the operating teams.
“After having reviewed the status of activities on their respective territories and presented the strategic importance of the mentioned projects, the next sequence of steps was agreed upon in order to enhance and accelerate the implementation of these projects and incorporate them into upcoming initiatives to improve transportation connectivity in the Western Balkans,” the press release stated.
