TIRANA, February 6/ATA/ Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako held a meeting today with Mayor of Rijeka Marko Filipović and the delegation accompanying him.

Mayor Sako said for the media that she acquainted the Croatian delegation with the extraordinary tourist and economic potential of Durrës, as well as the ancient history of the city with rich cultural heritage.

On his part, Mayor Filipović made a résumé of the cultural and economic values ​​of Rijeka, one of the most important cities in Croatia, where the main port of this country is located.

“We talked about the relations between the two countries and about promotion of the cooperation between our two port cities with concrete projects in the field of tourism, economy, trade, education, culture and in all other possible levels and fields. After the meeting, the Croatian delegation visited some of the archaeological sites of our city”, said Sako.
