Cooperation agreement signed between BiH Prosecutor’s Office and European Public Prosecutor’s Office
At the headquarters of the Office of the European Public Prosecutor in Luxembourg, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Office of the Chief European Prosecutor and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The signatories were the Chief European Prosecutor of EPPO Laura Corduta Kovesi and the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH Milanko Kajganić.
This agreement, which regulates and enables mutual cooperation, will enable, among other things, the formation of joint investigative teams in the fight against corruption, organized and cross-border crime.
One of the main roles of the European Public Prosecutor (EPPO) is the protection of the financial system of the European Union, as well as EU funds, whose beneficiary is Bosnia and Herzegovina, among others.
The signing of the agreement is an important step in the EU integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the result of intensive work by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, in terms of international cooperation and European integration, as well as connections with partner European institutions and law enforcement agencies.
