ZAGREB, 5 Dec (Hina) – The Conflict of Interest Commission on Thursday fined Defence Minister Ivan Anušić €1,000 for submitting an incomplete declaration of assets, having failed to report that his wife inherited ownership of eight plots of arable land.
The Commission also determined that in a case against Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Anušić, Veterans’ Affairs Minister Tomo Medved, government spokesperson Marko Milić, and HDZ MP Krunoslav Katičić, the conditions were not met to initiate proceedings based on allegations that the government building was used for meetings of the ruling majority instead of HDZ party premises.
In a case against Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković, concerning his use of a government plane for a trip to Berlin this summer to watch a Croatian national football team match, on which he brought his son, the Commission found no abuse of any special rights and deemed the conditions for further action unmet.
The Commission also determined that Kristina Ikić Baniček, MP and mayor of Sisak, incorrectly reported in her asset declaration a loan amount of €450,000 during the conversion of a loan from kunas to euros. The correct amount was HRK 450,000В (approximately €62,000), and the loan was her personal obligation, not her husband’s. The Commission issued her a warning.
The Commission issued a warning also to Višnja Ljubičić, the gender equality ombudswoman, for the delayed submission of her 2022 asset declaration.
