Podgorica, (MINA) – Since the beginning of the month, citizens across several cities of Montenegro have voluntarily handed over 561 firearms, 18,168 pieces of ammunition and 56 hand grenades, the Police Administration has announced.

It is stated that, as part of the running campaign “Respect life, return weapons”, which the Police Administration has been carrying out for several years, the citizens also handed over several weapon components and explosive devices since the beginning of this month.

The Police Administration appealed to all citizens to give their contribution to the public safety by handing over the firearms, ammunition and explosives in their possession, without facing any criminal or misdemeanor liability.
