ZAGREB, 13 Jan (Hina) – Croatian airports welcomed 17.2% more passengers in November 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, serving a total of 418,000 travellers.
This growth brought the cumulative number of passengers for the first 11 months of 2024 to 12.7 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%, according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Zagreb Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in November 2024, with 313,000, marking a 14.3% rise compared to November 2023. It also led in passenger numbers over the 11 months, handling nearly 4 million passengers (3.97 million), a 16.2% increase from the same period in 2023.
Dubrovnik Airport ranked second, with 52,000 passengers in November, reflecting a significant 35.8% increase. Over the first 11 months of 2024, nearly 3 million passengers (2.91 million) passed through Dubrovnik Airport, a growth of 22.3%, the highest among all Croatian airports during the year.
Split Airport ranked third in November with 48,100 passengers, a 22% rise compared to the same month the previous year. For the 11 months, it served 3.5 million passengers, placing it second overall, with a 3.5% year-on-year increase.
In November 2024, Croatian airports saw the most international passenger traffic with German airports, followed by those in the United Kingdom and France.
Aircraft operations (landings and take-offs) also increased, rising by 13.4% in November 2024, with nearly 6,000 operations. Over the 11 months, operations grew by 12% to more than 133,200.
Cargo traffic at Croatian airports grew as well, rising by 2.5% in November to 752 tonnes. Over the 11 months, cargo volumes exceeded 10,100 tonnes, a substantial 21.4% increase.
