CBK: Migrant remittances until the end of February reached over 174 million euros

The Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) has announced that the preliminary value of remittances from the diaspora for the month of February 2024 is 87.90 million euros.

According to a communiqué, 174.30 million euros is the preliminary value of remittances.

“64.40%, remittances through IFJBs, 312.70 million euros, assets of insurance companies, 2.80 billion euros, assets of pension funds, 555.20 million euros, assets of other financial intermediaries, 60.60%, household loans, microfinance sector, 41.40 million euros, new loans from other financial intermediaries. About 88 million euros is the preliminary value of the emigrant remittances that have been brought to the Republic of Kosovo for the month of February 2024”. This is stated in the statistics of remittances and other financial institutions for this period, published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), adding that their total value, according to preliminary estimates, has reached 174.3 million euros.

According to the report, the largest inflows of remittances were from non-bank financial institutions with a participation of 64.4 percent, followed by other channels with 19.7 percent and banks with 15.9 percent.

Regarding the assets of insurance companies, CBK shows that until this month their value was 312.7 million euros, marking an increase of about 600 thousand euros compared to January 2024.

Meanwhile, pension fund assets have reached the value of 2.8 billion euros, which represents an increase of 46.5 million euros. In the end, the CBK shows that the assets of other financial intermediaries at the end of February 2024 have increased by 15.1 million euros, reaching the value of 555.2 million euros.
