Foreign Direct Investments reached the value of almost 1.1 billion euros during the January-September period this year, thus reaching the highest value on record.
The data of the Bank of Albania show that incoming foreign exchange flows in the form of foreign direct investments were mainly concentrated in real estate, the hydrocarbon sector, the energy sector, as well as financial intermediation.
The main contribution to growth is attributable to new capital investments, which reached 214 million euros, 41% more compared to the third quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, the reinvested profit category reached 201 million euros, up 3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Enterprises with foreign shareholders during the 9-month period have reinvested profits in the amount of 575 million euros, or as much as 53% of foreign direct investments during this period.
