Annual inflation slows to 5.8% in October – flash estimate

Inflation in October 2023, as measured by the consumer price index, slowed to 5.8% year on year, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday, which is the lowest inflation rate since January 2022, when it was 5.7%.

Month on month, according to a flash estimate, inflation in October 2023 increased 0.4%. In September 2023, the inflation rate was 6.7%.

According to the main components of the index, theВ estimated annual rate of change for Food, beverages and tobacco is 8.1%, for Services 7.3%, for Non-food industrial goods without energy 5.6%, and for Energy -0.2%.

An increase of the rate of change at the monthly level is estimated forВ Non-food industrial goods without energy, by 2.4%, andВ Services, by 0.4%, while a decrease of the monthly rate of change is estimated forВ Energy, by 1.1%, and Food, beverages and tobacco, by 0.5%.

The national statistical office will publish the final data on the consumer price index in October 2023 on 16 November.
