Podgorica, Marseille, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a steering committee meeting of the Dialogue for Tourism project that Mediterranean countries needed to find alternatives to mass tourism and achieve common goals through best practices that implied greener, smarter, and more resilient tourism.
Representative of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Euro-MED programme Axel Rodriguez-Garrote highlighted the importance of finding as many alternatives to mass tourism as possible.
“We need to finally start seeking better knowledge, management, and best practice examples to achieve common goals that imply greener, smarter, and more resilient tourism,” said Rodriguez-Garrote, who is responsible for coordinating the Sustainable Tourism Mission, within the framework of which the Dialogue for Tourism project is supported.
The steering committee meeting of the Dialogue for Tourism project, within which the Mediterranean Sustainable Tourism Alliance meeting was also organized, was attended by representatives of the National Tourism Organization (NTO).
