Bucharest, December 24 /Agerpres/ – Approximately 22,800 employees of the Interior Ministry (MAI), mostly police officers, gendarmes, firefighters, SMURD rescuers, and border police officers, are on duty daily during the Christmas mini-holiday.

A priority task for these days has been announced by the spokesperson of the Interior Ministry, Monica Dajbog.

Public order teams will be present at events attended by a significant number of people to prevent illegal acts triggered by overcrowding, as well as to combat serious crimes.”

Additionally, border police officers make efforts to ensure rapid and efficient control at border crossing points, considering that many people choose to travel abroad, while Romanians working abroad are returning to the country.
