Albania and Italy are building bridges of cooperation in the Olympic Sports movement.
According to a press release of the Albanian Olympic Committee published in the social media, “By special invitation from President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH) Fidel Ylli, President of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) Giovanni Malago has visited Albania for the first time”.
The two presidents, Ylli and Malago, signed a memorandum of cooperation between KOKSH and CONI, which consists in offering a high-level expertise from Italy, help in the qualification of Albanian coaches, setting up camps for athletes, promoting the Olympic movement and quality support in sports medicine matters.
During his visit to the Olympic Park later in the day, President Malago, who was also accompanied by Director of Communication Danilo di Tommaso got acquainted with the important projects that the Albanian Olympic Committee has undertaken from the massive spread of sports in schools, the aim to bring as many people as possible in activities as well as projects for the construction of infrastructure that will help in the growth of new champions, as well as in the organization of the Olympic Games of Southeast Europe.
“President Malogo positively assessed the efforts that President Fidel Ylli and the Albanian Olympic Committee are making for the massivization of sports and the Olympic spirit and expressed the readiness of providing support from Italy, but also from the International Olympic Committee for Albanian sport”, is read in the press release.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Education and Sports Orgeta Manastirliu and Deputy Minister of Sports Endrit Hoxha have also received the delegation of the Italian Olympic Committee
