Achieving full employment conditions is a great feat, says presidency

The Presidency of the Republic has described as “a significant labour achievement” with a strong positive impact on the economy and society the government’s goal to create conditions for full employment within the first two years of governance.

Specifically, in a post on “X”, the Presidency notes that unemployment was reduced to 4.9% in 2024, marking the lowest number since 2008, while employment rose to 79.8%.

It said “in 2024, employment reached 79.8%, which is the highest rate recorded, while unemployment was reduced to 4.9%, marking the lowest performance since 2008”.

The achievement of the government’s goal to create conditions for full employment within the first two years of governance, it notes, “constitutes a significant labour achievement with a strong positive impact on the economy and society”, the Presidency said.

We continue, “strengthening the connection between human resources and the labour market, promoting vocational training, and utilising employment enhancement programmes, with the aim of further improving conditions in the labour market and maintaining positive results”, the post concluded.
