Recalling the successful FIP Platinum tournament in central Tirana, the minister noted it drew 20,000 viewers for the final alone and reached a massive online and social media audience.
According to the minister, the tournament highlighted padel as a tool to promote Tirana and Albania as a premier sports and tourism destination. All equipment and courts from the event have been donated to the Albanian Padel Federation.
Blendi Gonxhja praised the Albanian Padel Federation for providing the land and building the new sports complex. He noted that the center will host sports events, engage youth, and support federation members. “Padel is becoming a reality in Albania, thanks to this great initiative,” Gonxhja stated.
Praising the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports for the new sports setup and tournament support, Federation President Erjon Keri aims to use the new complex to train current athletes and spark a love for padel in local school kids and youth.
