Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The World Bank Country Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Christopher Sheldon has said that the World Bank fully supports the Central Bank’s initiatives and remains a strong partner on the path of further reforms.
“Recognising and appreciating the CBCG’s proactive approach and its strong contribution to positioning Montenegro as a regional leader in many fields, the World Bank fully supports its initiatives and remains a strong partner on the path of further reforms,” Sheldon said at a meeting with the CBCG Governor Irena Radovic.
According to a press release from the CBCG, the meeting took place before the upcoming International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring meetings in Washington.
The meeting focused on several key topics of mutual interest, including the ongoing preparations for implementing the TIPS Clone project and enhancing CBCG’s cyber security and supervisory capacities.
“Additionally, they explored further cooperation in modernising the payment system, including technical support and assessment of compliance with relevant international standards,” the press release states.
Radovic thanked the World Bank representatives for their continuous support and constructive partnership, which had significantly bolstered institutional capacities and financial infrastructure in Montenegro
The meeting reaffirmed their joint commitment to continue successful cooperation in creating a modern, resilient and inclusive financial system in Montenegro.
