An increase of 0.8% was recorded in September 2025 in the number of visitors to the country’s museums, along with a rise of 20.5% in visitors with free admission and an increase of 37.6% in receipts, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Monday.

In the nine-month period January-September 2025, compared with the same period in 2024, there was a decrease of 0.7% in museum visitors, an increase of 9.3% in visitors with free admission, and a rise of 34.8% in receipts.

At archaeological sites in September 2025 compared with the same month in 2024, a decrease of 6.3% in visitors was recorded, an increase of 14.4% in visitors with free admission, and an increase of 45.8% in receipts.

In the nine-month period January-September 2025, compared with the same period in 2024, there was a decrease of 4.8% in the number of visitors, an increase of 5.9% in visitors with free admission, and an increase of 40.8% in receipts.
